Check out our tried and tested method for folding your sleeping bag quickly and efficiently.

Whether we’re hiking, away at summer camp, or on a family camping trip, we’ve all experienced the struggle of putting the sleeping bag away at the end. And I think we also all know that slightly annoying person who insists on preaching their good method to everyone, all the time.
Save yourself time and be able to smugly say that you know the tried and tested right method. ;)

How to properly fold a sleeping bag Should I compress it?

Don’t be like your Grandad, who doesn’t ever give in when you blackmail him for his top-secret cake recipe. A tip like this is worth sharing!
And it's our sales assistant Gaël who has the best solution for you.

Forget all those tiring methods (no, I'm not exaggerating at all) of folding your sleeping bag, where you end up on your stomach trying to get as much air out as possible. I can see you hurting your knees trying to roll your sleeping bag up as tightly as you can. Ah, you even folded it in half to compress it as much as possible, didn't you? Stop what you’re doing!

In fact, it's a lot simpler than you might think.

Just stuff it into its cover in a random
, or I might even say, "haphazard" fashion. In no time at all, you'll see that the air escapes by itself, and you’ll be left with a perfectly compressed sleeping bag. As well as being a quick and effective method, this tip will help you keep your sleeping bag in good shape over time. Why? Gaël shares an important piece of information with us: Never fold your sleeping bag the same way every time because this will wear out the fibres and compromise its ability to retain heat. Remember to alternate between putting the top and the bottom of the sleeping bag in first when you put it in its cover.

I told you it was easy! I also recommend you watch the video so that you can become the king or queen of sleeping-bag folding.

Yes, sleeping bags can be washed. I don't have to tell you that sleeping in a dirty sleeping bag is not very pleasant. It may well turn your sweet dreams into a nightmare of endless scratching. So how do you wash your sleeping bag properly? Well, we’ve written an article on this very topic. I’m "spoiling" you a bit: we advise you to use a washing machine and laundry balls (yes, this part is easy too).

Where and how to store a sleeping bag

To make your sleeping bag last for as long as possible and to ensure it continues to serve its purpose, store it in a dry place, on a hanger or in a storage bag. You've guessed it – we don't recommend leaving it compressed in its bag, as this could reduce its inflation capacity. We give you all the information you need and more advice in the article below.
